✅
Positive Aspects
1. Strong AI and Imaging Capabilities
Helio P90 integrates MediaTek’s APU 2.0 with high AI performance (up to ~1127 GMACs) that accelerates tasks like intelligent photography, scene detection, and on-device AI workloads beyond typical SoCs of its time. 2. Balanced CPU Performance
Featuring an octa-core design with two Cortex-A75 cores at 2.20 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 2.00 GHz on a 12 nm process, the Helio P90 delivers capable everyday performance with good efficiency for mid-range devices. 3. Decent GPU & Multimedia Support
With PowerVR GM9446 GPU supporting Vulkan 1.3 and modern video codecs (H.264, H.265, VP9), the P90 handles casual gaming and 4K video playback smoothly for media consumption.
❌
Negative Aspects
1. No Integrated 5G Modem
Helio P90 uses an LTE modem (Cat-12 DL/Cat-13 UL) and does not support 5G connectivity, limiting the chip to 4G LTE networks. 2. Older Mid-Range Architecture
Although solid at launch, the Helio P90’s 12 nm process and older Cortex-A75/A55 cores lag behind modern mid-range SoCs with more efficient 7 nm/6 nm nodes and newer CPU designs in both performance and energy efficiency.
